Terms

Last updated:

A reservation on this page is not a purchase. Nothing is charged and nothing is owed. Here is what it does and does not mean.

A reservation is not an order

Joining the list places no obligation on you and takes no payment. It puts your name in the order in which people asked, and it means we will contact you when a bear is available for you to buy.

You can leave the list at any time, and you do not have to give a reason.

The price

The launch price shown on this page is what we intend to charge the first batch, and we will honour it for anyone reserved from the list at the point we send them a payment link.

It is not a locked-in contract price. If the cost of making the bear moves substantially before the first batch is made, the price may change — and if it does, we will say so plainly in the email rather than quietly.

What we have described

Mnr de Beer is in development. The specifications on this page — battery life, the number of stories, the warranty period, the age range, the machine-washable outer — are what we are building to.

The final product may differ in detail. Where it does, we will tell you before you pay, not after. Nothing on this page is a guarantee of a specification, and no reasonable reading of it should be taken as one until you have an invoice in front of you.

Photographs and quotations

The photographs on this page are illustrations of the product, not photographs of a specific bear you will receive.

Quotations shown as coming from families are not published as real customer reviews until they are exactly that, with the permission of the people who said them.

Availability

The bear is hand-made in batches, so quantities are genuinely limited and a place on the list does not reserve stock. If a batch is fully allocated before we reach you, you keep your place for the next one.

Your rights as a consumer

Nothing here limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, including your rights on a purchase made at a distance. This page describes a waitlist; the terms of an actual sale come with the invoice.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
